Conference Participant Information

Authors of Papers

The SEA does not require assignment of discussants for breakout sessions or advance distribution of paper drafts. The chairperson for each session may, however, make such requests. If so, the chairperson is responsible for contacting participants concerning discussant assignments. Contact your chairperson if you have questions about the session.

Session Chairs

Each session chairperson is responsible for: (1) determining how much time participants will have for presentation, (2) arranging for the use of a laptop computer, tablet, or other device for projection (see Session Resources section below), (3) ensuring that the session begins and ends on time and that presenters adhere to the agreed times, (4) assigning which paper(s) each discussant will discuss (if applicable), and (5) coordinating the distribution of paper drafts (if applicable).

Chairpersons are strongly encouraged to leave enough time at the end of each session for questions and comments from the audience. If unforeseen circumstances prevent you from meeting your commitment, immediately contact the SEA office at admin@southerneconomic.org.

Session Discussants

The chairperson for each session is responsible for contacting participants concerning discussant assignments and time allocations (if applicable). Contact your chairperson if you have not heard from him/her. Please stay within the time allocated to you by your chairperson. If unforeseen circumstances prevent you from meeting your commitment, immediately contact the SEA office at admin@southerneconomic.org.

Session Resources

Each meeting room will be equipped with an LCD projector and HDMI/VGA cable connectors. Session participants must bring a laptop computer, tablet, or other device for use with the provided projection equipment. If other connectors are needed, the audio/visual vendor may have them available, but the SEA cannot guarantee it. The SEA encourages all participants to make advance preparations for the session.
